"...and the Best Male Blogger 2014 is..." #BlogCamp14

It has been a blessed couple of days and just before Easter, I heard one of the best lines ever of 2014 "...and the Best Male Blogger at the Ghana Blogging and Social Media awards is Emmanuel Gamor..." At the Blogging and Social Media Awards in 2014

Last year, this blog was nominated for "Best Photo Blog" Category #BlogCamp13

This year I was nominated twice: "Best Male Blogger" & "Best Blog" categories respectfully.

My most important tweet that night:

MeshTV Ghana created a video montage from BlogCamp14 and a snippet from the photoblogging session I facilitated:

A few of my experiences from sharing my work on this here, blog is at 4:48

Tech Report: iWeek, Leti Games & iSpace

We've been working on a top secret, not-so-secret pilot for a new show; and I've gotten a chance to attend a few exciting events concerning tech over the past few weeks.

Aunty Dorothy (Dorothy Gordon) hosted Innovation Week at Kofi Annan ICT center in Accra. The event was pretty decent and the overall goal of nurturing a framework for technologists to be efficient and thrive was met with the launch of Hackerspace.

Honorable Victoria Hammah, Deputy Minister of Communications

Attendees at the conference.

P.V. Obeng, Chairman KNUST council

Dr. Dorothy Gordon, Director - General, Kofi Annan ICT

Leti Games an amazing tech start-up out of the MEST Incubator in Accra, launched the Kwaku Ananse game series at the British Council.  Eyram Akofa Tawia shared the goals of the company to expand corporate branding for Ghanaian companies in games, similar to ad placement in popular EA Games jerseys for FIFA football/soccer games. A new venue that supports creatives, techies and young professionals is iSpace. Fiifi Baidoo and his crew have the work space setup for group work, group meetings, space rentals and internet use. iSpace is in the same building as Hello Food by Oxford Street in Osu. The soft launch for us 'insiders' was an eye-opener to what iSpace will be offering both in terms of business & community engagement. Pictures below:

Content is King #BlogCamp13

My first Blog Camp and  I thoroughly enjoyed the networking experience. Besides meeting old friends, I finally met faces & characters behind the blogs and tweets I follow fervently. The event was informative and one of the better attended ones that has been organized by my peers, since I've been in the country. The Kofi Annan ICT center was packed to capacity with spill-over in the hall-ways from late morning through the Ghana Social Media Awards segment of the night.

US Ambassador to Ghana whisked through and used the event out-door the embassy's new tumblr account. I got to meet Google Ghana's Estelle Akrofi-Sowah, Be Bold's Christal Jean (now Christal Beeko) and Mutombo Da Poet for the first time.
