It depends: there are specific colors designated only to certain occasion ie black for funerals, white for baby naming ceremonies. Royalty or prominent people may have their own Kente but colorful Kente is for festive occasions. There's a science to it all lol.

Love the colors. So is it that every family has their own kente or it's more of a personal choice? Do you only wear that kente or can you try others?
